INTRODUCTION
A lasting protection and touch-up for
galvanized or painted steel.
Many electrical installations are held or
covered by steel structures. Zinc in molten
form has been used for a long time to protect
such structures. It can, however, not be applied
once the steel has reached its final form
or be used " in place".
SELCO Zinc offers the protection of hot
dip galvanizing plus the convenience of
on-the-job application. It is a zinc-rich
coating which contains 95% pure zinc in
an epoxy-ester binding resin with the following
main properties:
| |
· Stops rust and
provides galvanic protection to metals
· Electrochemically bonds with
metal base
· Protects metal, even when scratched
· Single component system with
extended shelf life
· Excellent paint primer. |
SELCO Zinc forms a tough, flexible and
conducting coating of zinc metal which actually
bonds with the metal base. Through galvanic
action this coating protects against rust
and rust creepage, even when scratched or
abraded, because it sacrifices itself to
protect the metal base and keeps on protecting.
Therefore rust cannot spread or creep under
SELCO Zinc.
TYPICAL
APPLICATIONS
SELCO SG-630 is one of the best
lubricants available for running in applications.
It is particularly useful
for surfaces that cannot be burnished and
when the lowest possible coefficient of friction
is desired.
 |
Wherever
a galvanized surface has been damaged
or altered by drilling, cutting, welding,
threading or other handling. |
 |
To protect
smaller structures or limited areas
to replace hot dip galvanizing(hence
the name "cold galvanizer "). |
 |
As a primer
to replace red lead with the advantage
of saving later stripping, cleaning
and re-application over regular periods
of time. |
 |
Coastal
and shipborne installations subject
to severe salt Water corrosion. |
Utilities, generating stations, transmission
towers, transformers, underground equipment,
substations, of-shore oil rigs, ship, airplane
hangars, railroad equipment, street lighting,
welding, panel boxes, radio and TV relay towers,
metal electrical enclosures, mining equipment,
sings and sign posts. etc.
DIRECTIONS
 |
Apply
only to clean, dry surfaces because
galvanic protection depends mainly on
intimate contact of zinc particles with
the bare metal. |
 |
On severely
rusted surfaces loose scale should be
wire-brushed. Grease and dirt should
be removed with SELCO ZINC. |

BENEFITS
 |
It is especially suitable
as a Spray in lubricants |
 |
Does not require burnishing |
 |
Provides a lower coefficient
of friction than most other MoS2 pastes |
 |
Features
a solvent that quickly evaporates and
allows the sprayed part to be used within
a seconds |
 |
Has a service
temperature range of -31 ° C.(-35
°C) to 750F (399 °C) |
 |
Require no
special surfaces preparation and film
thickness is easily controlled specially
useful for
precision equipment's. |
 |
Reduces friction,
prevents metal contact, galling, seizing
and protects against wear, especially
during initial running-in and under
severe operating conditions.
